People.com — On Saturday, about 3,000 people stripped down and took to the streets of Philadelphia for the 8th Annual Philly Naked Bike Ride.  The yearly event is meant to “promote fuel conscious consumption, positive body imageand cycling advocacy,” according to the official website.

Philadelphia’s ride is part of the World Naked Bike Ride group, founded in 2004 to bring attention to the negative affects of pollution caused by cars, as well as to celebrate the human body. While many riders choose to ride fully nude, others get creative with their coverings and body paint.
