Indonesian Film Festival, New York, August 17-19, 2017

“Beyond Diversity; Strength lies in differences, not in similarities. Differences goes way beyond gender, race, religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation but also the background, skills, experience and vision. It’s difficult, to make a common identity, but understanding that beyond our difference, we are profoundly similar to each other.”

 

Celebrating the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia and the 350 years of the Treaty of Breda, Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in NY will hosting The Indonesian Street Festival 2017, a series of promotional activities movies, coffee, tourism, and various other cultural activities with the tagline “Indonesia, the Spice Islands”.

As part of the series of events, IFF will present the first Indonesian Film Festival in New York and the east coast of America on 17-19 August 2017. The Indonesian Film Festival New York 2017 (IFFestNY 2017) is 3 days curated film programs with ‘Beyond Diversity’ theme includes screening of selected short, animated short, documentary & feature films and an animation workshop by Indonesian stop motion animator.

Day 1: Salawaku & Aisyah: Let us Live like Family. Day 2: Roda Pantura, North Coast Story & Djakarta 00. Day 3: Timun Mas & A Letter to Jakarta. And several short films series.
