Perhelatan akbar G-20 yang dihadiri 19 kepala negara dan 2 organisasi dunia berakhir sukses Rabu 16 November 2022 lalu. Mulai dari Presiden AS, Joe Biden hingga Presiden China Xi-Jinping, beberapa kepala negara-negara industri lain, hadir di pertemuan puncak yang digelar di The Apurva Kempinski, Hotel Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali itu.
Sekitar 10 ribu petugas kepolisian, 18 ribu tentara dan 6 ribu pasukan dari Kodam Udayana, Bali dilibatkan dalam pertemuan puncak yang membahas masalah ekonomi dan kondisi politik dan keamanan dunia. Belum terhitung puluhan kapal perang, kapal induk dan kapal jenis lain yang berjaga-jaga di perairan Lautan Hindia Selatan. Untuk itu, Pemerintah Indonesia menyediakan dana sebesar Rp 674 miliar.
Nama Presiden Joko Widodo kembali mencuat di kalangan wartawan asing. Pemimpin Indonesia berusia 61 tahun itu dinilai mampu mengajak para pemimpin dunia yang tengah berkonflik dewasa ini, untuk duduk bersama dalam sebuah mimbar penting di Bali.
Ketika ditanya Wartawan The Economist tentang konflik Taiwan; Juga konflik Ukraina, serta perkembangan baru AS dan China, Presiden Jokowi secara diplomatis menjawab pertanyaan yang diajukan Zanny Minton Beddoes, Pemimpin Redaksi majalah kondang The Economist itu. ‘’Setidaknya kita bisa duduk bersama untuk berunding di forum ini.
