Ana (43) and Fia (18) are a mother and daughter singing duo, originally from Indonesia, who moved to the UK along with Fia’s younger brother in 2011. Ana is a full-time mother and Fia is a student, who also works part-time. Ana & Fia have always sung individually, including local talent shows and they have recently started to perform together as a duo.
I really appreciated the balance between celebrating what works and pointing out where the story loses momentum. The comparison between the film’s visual style and the show’s character development gave me a new way to think about both.
