Hong Kong menawarkan 500 ribu tiket pesawat gratis bagi pelancong atau turis yang akan bepergian ke Asia dan sebaliknya lewat Hong Kong. Tiket pesawat itu akan ditawarkan mulai bulan Maret mendatang lewat kampanye turisme berjudul ‘’Hello Hong Kong’’.
Selama enam bulan tiket itu diberikan secara cuma-cuma kepada para turis yang singgah di Hong Kong. Tiket gratis itu akan disebarkan lewat tiga maskapai penerbangan: Cathay Pacific, HK Express dan Hong Kong Airlines.
‘’Kami berharap agar turis yang menerima tiket gratis itu akan membawa 2 sampai 3 orang teman atau keluarganya ke Hong Kong,’’ tutur Fred Lam, CEO Hong Kong Airport Authority kepada stasiun televisi CNBC. Meskipun yang kami bagikan hanya 500 ribu, ‘’Tapi kami yakin 1,5 juta turis akan singgah di Hong Kong,’’ lanjut Fred Lam.
Agar merata, tiket gratis itu amulai dibagikan ke pasar Asia Tenggara lebih dahulu. Disusul kemudian ke China Daratan, penumpang North Asia dan akhirnya ke kawasan dunia lainnya. Sebanyak 800 ribu tiket akan dialokasikan bagi penduduk Hong Kong yang akan dibagikan pada musim panas mendatang, bulan Juni, Juli atau Agustus 2023.
Pembagian tiket gratis itu adalah bagian dari promosi Hong Kong bernilai total Rp 1,9 triliun untuk mendorong perusahaan penerbangan Hong Kong yang sempoyongan akibat Covid-19 beberapa tahun lalu. Dana setara US $ 127 juta itu adalah paket bantuan Pemerintah Hong Kong bagi industri penerbangan setempat.
Lantas bagaimana para calon penumpang dapat mendapatkan tiket itu? ‘’Tergantung regulasi pasar dan peraturan setempat,’’ kata Fred Lam. ‘’Bisa berupa undian, atau siapa cepat siapa dapat, atau bisa juga melalui pembelian satu dapat satu gratis, atau melalui permainan atau bentuk undian lainnya,’’ sambung Fred Lam, CEO Hong Kong Airport Authority.
