Inverse.com — Elon Musk says he’s going to take humans to Mars. That means we’re going to be a multiplanetary species, one that can live in low gravity, no atmosphere, and no oxygen. But as we look out into the cosmos for our next home and plan to leave this ruined planet behind, the BBC has come out with a one-minute preview of their latest bit of pro-Earth propaganda.
Planet Earth II, sequel to the 2006 documentary narrated by David Attenborough, will be out before the end of the year. The trailer, released Sunday, features a whole host of flora and fauna that we probably won’t find on Mars or other nearby Earth-like planets.
Six hours of high-definition footage will highlight a wide variety of animals and ecosystems, all to remind you of the stunning diversity of life and locations on our planet. The series is once again narrated by David Attenborough.
There definitely won’t be badass eagles or flying lizards or penguins or glowing fungus on the next planet over. But there will be dangerous meteor showers, a dribble of water, and ancient riverbeds to explore.
